About Claire

Owner, Mental Health Therapist
CF Liminal Space Counselling Services
Introduction
My name is Claire Fan (she/her). I am a first-generation Canadian, wife, and mother of three. Originally from Asia, I immigrated to Canada as a teenager. I’m bilingual in Mandarin and English and bring a culturally sensitive and competent approach to my practice. While my worldview is mainly shaped by my bi-cultural and Christian faith experiences, I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and perspectives. I am committed to providing a warm, genuine, collaborative and safe space for you to access the care and support you need.

Education
I hold a Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation (BCR) in Disability Studies, and a Master of Social Work (MSW) with Clinical Specialization, both from the University of Calgary. I am a Registered Social Worker in good standing with Alberta College of Social Workers, and I'm authorized to provide Restricted Psychosocial Interventions.

My Mission
At CF Liminal Space Counselling Services, I’m passionate about helping clients navigate life's complexities. I offer practical tools, guidance, and support to enhance mental health and well-being. I work collaboratively with clients to develop insights, coping strategies, and achieve their personal goals. You don’t have to face your struggles alone. I’m here to walk with you. If you're ready to take the first step toward healing, I’d be honoured to support you through this journey. Together, we can explore your story, find clarity, and work towards growth and wholeness.

My Personal Journey
I, too, have experienced what’s often called the "Liminal Space"—those uncertain, in-between moments of life when change feels hard and the path forward isn’t clear (or different than what I planned for). It’s through these times that I’ve learned how to navigate challenges and emerge stronger, and it’s this same empathy and understanding that I bring into my work with clients. My goal is to walk alongside you through your stressors, symptoms or challenges, guiding you toward wholeness and healing.
