About Claire

Owner, Mental Health Therapist
CF Liminal Space Counselling Services
Have you ever felt like you're in between versions of your life—where what used to feel familiar is gone, but what comes next isn’t clear yet? This is what’s often called a Liminal Space—the in-between. And it can feel confusing, heavy, and incredibly overwhelming.
I work with individuals and parents who find themselves stuck in these spaces after life’s unexpected moments—whether it’s grief, trauma, burnout, or a major shift that changed everything. From the outside, you might look like you’re holding it together. But inside, it can feel like you’ve lost your footing.

In our work together, we don’t rush you out of that space or expect you to have all the answers. Instead, we slow things down, make sense of what you’re carrying, and create a path forward that feels steady and realistic.

My approach is compassionate and practical—helping you not only understand your experience, but learn how to regulate overwhelm, reconnect with yourself, and begin moving forward with clarity.

You don’t have to stay stuck in the in-between.

If you're ready to feel more grounded, supported, and like yourself again, I’m here to walk that space with you!
Introduction
My name is Claire (she/her). I am a first-generation Canadian, wife, and mother of three. Originally from Asia, I immigrated to Canada as a teenager. I’m bilingual in Mandarin and English, and bring a culturally sensitive and competent approach to my practice. While my worldview is mainly shaped by my bi-cultural and faith experiences, I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and perspectives. I am committed to providing a warm, genuine, collaborative and safe space for you to access the care and support you need.

Education
I hold a Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation (BCR) in Disability Studies, and a Master of Social Work (MSW) with Clinical Specialization, both from the University of Calgary. I am a Registered Social Worker in good standing with Alberta College of Social Workers, and I'm authorized to provide Restricted Psychosocial Interventions.

My Mission
At CF Liminal Space Counselling Services, I’m passionate about helping clients navigate life's complexities. I offer practical tools, guidance, and support to enhance mental health and well-being. I work collaboratively with clients to develop insights, coping strategies, and achieve their personal goals. You don’t have to face your struggles alone. I’m here to walk with you. If you're ready to take the first step toward healing, I’d be honoured to support you through this journey. Together, we can explore your story, find clarity, and work towards growth and wholeness.

My Personal Journey
I always thought I'd become an elementary school art teacher. However, during my practicums years ago, I found myself being carried away and intrigued by individual students' unique journeys and stories. With many turns and decisions along the way, they have led me to where I am today. In many other parts of life, I, too, have experienced what’s often called the "Liminal Space"—those uncertain, in-between moments of life when change feels hard and the path forward isn’t clear (or different than what I planned for). It’s through these times that I’ve learned how to navigate challenges and emerge stronger, and it’s this same empathy, curiosity, and understanding that I bring into my work with clients.
